Toshiba's new 40-inch model 'worth the money'

Toshiba offers a new addition to its range Toshiba's latest 40-inch high-definition (HD) TV is likely to burn a substantial hole in your pocket, but its performance could make it worth the cash, according to a new review.

According to tech.co.uk, consumers looking to spend as little as possible on a HD-ready LCD TV may not be interested in the Toshiba 40XF355D, but for those ready to get the best out of their viewing experience it could be the right purchase.

It is noted that the TV's super slim design and eye-catching looks are exceptional and that for such a large model it is "remarkably compact".

However, it is in performance where the 40XF355D impresses and the website draws particular attention to the unit's full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and high range of connectivity as well as noting the high quality of service to Blu-ray discs it provides.

"The 40XF355D's pictures are strikingly bright, which makes the image seem instantly crisp and dynamic, particularly with hi-def material," the review states.

It adds that those with Sky HD digital will experience "pin-sharp, noise-free detail, luxurious colours and the best black levels to be found on a Toshiba LCD".

Last month the website listed Toshiba's 32C3030 as one of the top ten 32-inch models currently available.
