Watch out for that Wiimote!

01 Aug 2007 16:00

Nintendo Wii's interactive flying Wiimote An enthusiastic game on the Nintendo Wii, using that super-fun Wiimote, can be a lethal business. Well, if you are a plasma or LCD TV that is.

Whether you are indulging in some Wii Sports, or trying to obtain a Wii Degree at the big Brain Academy, it can be hard not to fling the remote right in the direction of your precious screen if things get a bit heated.

This has not gone unnoticed by several people, least of all Emma Sands, who has come up with an ingenious way to protect your treasured telly from that potentially damaging controller, Pocket-lint.co.uk reports.

The mum-of-seven noted that her kids often managed to let go of their Wiimotes while playing games, and as such has invented a plastic shield for TVs to prevent any damage.

The screen protector is specifically designed for 30- to 52-inch widescreen plasma and LCD screens. It rests on the top service of the TV and there is little chance of it slipping as it is firmly secured by Velcro straps.

Commenting on her design, Ms Sands said: "I decided to design a screen protector to protect everyone’s LCD or Plasma Screen from the ravages of young children and flying Nintendo Wii remotes."

The screen has a recommended retail price of £79.50. Sounds Wii-lly good if you ask us!
