Wi-Fi connection for Nintendo DS

11 Jun 2007 11:10

Wi-Fi connection available for the Nintendo DS Lite and the Nintendo DS Hand-held games consoles are nifty little things, aren't they? Loved by kids, adults and those so addicted to their favourite computer games they can't leave the house unless they can keep playing them.

And now, one of these portable platforms has just got even better, because Opera Software has made its Wi-Fi browser available for the Nintendo DS. Admittedly it's only in North America, but fingers crossed the UK market will benefit soon.

The Nintendo DS browser has the appearance of a game cartridge and has been made for both the DS and the DS Lite, at a recommended retail price of $29.99 (£15). The Nintendo DS version is available to buy on Nintendo.com, while the DS Lite version can be bought in shops.

Scott Hedrick, executive vice president of marketing for the Norway-based company said: "With the DS Browser, Nintendo continues to expand the possibilities for users of this tremendously popular game platform.

"Opera is excited to work with Nintendo to bring the easy and accessible way to browse the internet to DS lovers in North America. DS Browser makes it easy to check news, popular user generated content sites or comparison shop while in a Wi-Fi hotspot."
