02 Nov 2007 14:00

Playing on the Wii is about to get even better We know that it is more than eight weeks to go until Christmas, but we can't help but feel excited at the prospect of unwrapping some cool pressies come December 25th.

So, imagine how pleased we were - and how you will be too - to find out that Nintendo is to launch its latest accessory for the Wii right in time for the festive period.

The Wii Zapper will make a great addition to any gaming set-up, as the cool white frame will allow you to use your Wiimote and Nunchuck together like a gun - great for those high-octane shoot 'em up games!

Due to be released in the UK on December 7th, the Zapper will come packaged with Link's Crossbow Training, a game which is based on the much-loved Legend of Zelda series.

No price has been announced yet but it is thought that it will sell for around £20.

Anyone who has a Wii will enjoy playing it even more if they get their hands on a Zapper and anyone who is new to the console will be instantly hooked, according to George Harrison, Nintendo of America's senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications.

He commented: "The Wii Zapper combines our remarkable controllers into one housing with a classic style reminiscent of arcade style games. Both veteran and first-time players will find it brings a whole new dimension to games where targeting is key and provides even more exciting game play opportunities."
