After cutting the price of Xbox 360 in North America and Canada, Microsoft has announced that it will be implementing a similar price cut in Europe.

The price cut will come into effect on Friday, August 24th - the same day as the launch of the Xbox 360 Elite. The Core unit will sell for £179.99, the Premium console will retail at £249.99, and the Elite will retail at £299.99

Stephen McGill, head of gaming and entertainment for Xbox UK, said: "We pioneered the successful concept of multiple products for multiple categories of consumer. The Xbox 360 opens up whole new avenues of entertainment for those who seek the ultimate gaming and entertainment experience.
