Buy Xbox 360 Elite Getting your hands on the latest games console is a must for some people. Others may be less enthused, preferring to spend their pennies on high-def tellies or blu-ray players, but either way, news of a new release is always interesting - particularly if the price is proving to be contentious.

The Xbox 360 Elite is due to hit the shops in Europe on August 24th, and according to GAME, HMV and Play, it will cost £329.99 - even though makers Microsoft have yet to confirm the recommended retail price.

Speaking to Eurogamer last week about the possible price of the Elite, Xbox UK marketing boss Steve McGill said: "If you compare it to the price difference between Xbox 360 Elite and Premium in the US, you wouldn't be far off."

However, a spokesperson for Microsoft told the site today (Wednesday) that there is "nothing to announce at this point".

A more definite idea of pricing is expected closer to the date of release. For now, you can savour the specs of the console, which has an HDMI video output, a 120GB hard disk, and is all black and shiny.
